The opening sequence for the movie 'Se7en' demonstrates the use of symbolic pictures and short clips. The use of the sinister music in the background creates a tense and dark atmosphere causing the audience to feel slightly uncomfortable. Also within this OTS the use of extreme close up camera shots allows the audience to see exactly what may appear in the film thus causing them to perhaps feel slightly worried and anxious. In this OTS we primarily see a person using a variety of objects, some being really unsuspecting horror related objects such as a page turning in a book or a razor blade.
Sinister is a 2012 American supernatural horror film directed by Scott Derrickson.The opening sequence for the movie 'sinister' is effective due to it representing itself as a film screen where the front cap has been taken off so that we are able to see what they are videoing which shows us four people being hung from a tree with there heads in sand bags alo they are connected to a rope which is linked to the branch being cut, as the branch slowly being cut by a saw. the four people being hung slowly come to there death as you see there legs moving when there in the air then they stop moving which shows us that they slowly died.this scene is also shown on a old fashion screen as it is flickering slowly and the screen is slowly bobbing up and down
Insidious is a 2011 American supernatural horror film directed by James Wan. The starting scene is a effective as the starting music is eerie and shows a light with the directors name on the light then the light spirals round to show a child sleeping in the background all peacefully.then slowly pans round as it goes past a lava lap and you see different objects in his bedroom. the camera carries on panning round to show a gremlin with her face behind a candle also the music increase along with the tension created. After we see her face the scene switches into big bold red letters which allows us to see how dramatic it is but also the music becomes a lot higher which makes the audience jump so that they remember the words that they have see on the screen as they has such a huge impact from it.
