General lighting provides an area with overall illumination. We used general lighting in all of our clips by the use of natural light. This ensured all clips can be seen and allows the audience to distinguish detail. This general lighting also allowed the actors to move about the scene safely. Also due to all of our shots being filmed inside we had no need for any dark scenes. Our OTS consists of shots of the 'mad conductor' consistently torturing his patients and therefore we needed enough light for the audience to see what and how exactly he is torturing them. If the lighting was incorrect then the audience could perhaps be left a bit clueless and asking questions as to what exactly the torturer was doing in specific scenes.
