THE CONDUCTOR: USING, FOLLOWING, DEVELOPING FORM AND CONVENTION

In our OTS we contradicted the stereotypes that the victim is a blonde female as in our OTS the victim was a male. We decide to use the male character as the victim because most horror films use the female character. The height of the male victim, played a role in the decision of the victim. This is because the victim is much smaller than the killer. The killer which we used matches the common stereotype of killers in horror films, so our killer in our OTS was a male who we a made a psycho killer.

Before we started our OTS we needed to some research on what we need to include. One of these was the use of a tripod. The tripod was must in our OTS as it made the shots look better when the camera is stable. We also did some research on masks and we decided to use a variety of masks within our OTS, the variety of masks used helps to create tension as they symbolise what the killer is going to do to the victim.

Our original OTS had a few problems, for example the OTS was too long. In the new OTS it was much shorter. This is better because it allows us to grab the attention of the audience easier. Some of our shots were repetitive, so if the OTS is shorter we can add less repetitive shot bringing in the audience and not pushing them away. Another problem we had with the original OTS was that the titles were not spread out and they didn't look appealing. In our new OTS we changed it so that now the titles are spread out through the OTS and they are different styles and different positions, for example bottom right.
